Yellow Garden Spider

I just finished this painting of a Yellow Garden Spider, upon request. These are fairly common spiders, but pretty startling to come across since they are quite large and have distinctive markings. Yellow Garden Spider on Web, 16x20, SOLD

The Yellow Garden Spider depicted is a female. She hasn’t yet added the zig-zag stabilimentum to the web. She might be waiting until the dewdrops dry up, since this web was captured early on a foggy fall morning.
