Here are some testimonials Catherine has received after someone purchased or was given a commissioned painting.
Malina and Nasser, 14×11
The portrait is beautiful, vibrant, calming, jaw dropping and most of all unique. Thank you thank you thank you.

It’s even better than I thought it would be! Wow, gorgeous! And so is the painting! Your painting enchants me! Thank you so much.

Barred Owl Triptych, 13×43.5
I am so thrilled about the gift Randy had made for my birthday. The painting was done by Catherine from pictures we took of three owls that used to hang around our property when we first moved in and a younger owl that spent the day with us a few years ago. Randy made the frame. It’s such a personal gift and I was completely surprised by it. Thank you again for your hard work and also for working with my husband.

Maya, 8×8
Catherine, I want to thank you again for the beautiful oil portrait of Maya. I will always miss her but feel like she is with me still whenever I look at her portrait. You captured her essence perfectly!
2020, Angela, Ottawa, ON
Lyla, 14×11
(When sent a work-in-progress shot) I don’t think a visit to the studio is required at this time. My only request is of you could lighten her hair as she is blonder than it appears. Otherwise I think it is perfect.
(Final image sent) This looks great. Let me know when it is ready for pickup.
2020, Suzanne, Kingston, ON
Ian, Luna, and Sue Canoeing, 15×30
As the recipient of a surprise painting commissioned for my partner and I, I can say that it is one of the most meaningful and beautiful gifts that we have ever received. The painting itself is remarkable and a treasure.
2020, Sue and Ian, Peterborough, ON
Max and Stuart, 16×16
Absolute tears of joy. I can’t truly express how much we love the painting you created. You captured the essence of “the boys” and what our fireplace once was, even down to the details of our old fire bell. You are an incredible artist. Thank you for undertaking this project so this gift could be given to us. It is dearly loved and will be displayed prominently in our rebuilt house for others to enjoy as well.
2019, Marilyn, San Francisco, CA
Rawdon, Quebec and Cathy Riding Antigua, 16×12 each
Mom exclaimed, “He looks JUST like Antigua! It looks just like him!”
Dad said he could smell the pine. And now he’s looking for pictures cuz he might ask to commission a picture of his own. (Which is VERY much his way of saying how much he liked his painting).
Everyone is asking… how long it takes to do paintings like these?
They loved them Catherine. Thank you so much! It was so wonderful to watch their reactions.
2019, Kim, Mississauga, ON

This portrait of our little Hailey captures her true spirit and beauty! We love it, as we love the portraits of all our other grandchildren painted by you.

Dipping in Crotch Lake, 30×24
(When sent a work-in-progress shot) Wow that looks amazing! Better than I could have ever imagined. I did some zoom ins and everything looks perfect. Thank you so much!
(Later) We had the unveiling this evening.
Everyone was completely blown away by the painting!! You did such a great job! It’s hung in the living room, but I don’t think it’s the ideal spot. I will send you a photo of it up once it moves!!
2019, Julie, Perth, ON
Bank of Montreal, Perth, 13×9.5
(When sent a work-in-progress shot) Oh my goodness Catherine!! Yes, Thank you for this. You are so talented, we love it so far. Extremely excited for the final revealing! Thank you so much for doing this.
(After the gift presentation) He absolutely loved it!! He even took it to work to show his colleagues before he left.

Grace and Jagger, 8×10 each
I recently asked Catherine to do two separate paintings of our dog and cat for my wife. When the paintings were completed, both my wife and I were completely satisfied. Our satisfaction was further confirmed when our cat first saw the painting of the dog. She stared at it from a distance for a few minutes before slowly moving forward for a closer look. Grace remained in place until my wife took down the painting to allow Grace’s further inspection. We will never know exactly what was going through the cat’s mind but it was quite obvious that she was impressed by the accuracy of Catherine’s work.

Martindale Pond from Royal Henley Boulevard, 24×36
Just wanted to let you know that I got home and unpacked the painting. First of all, it took my breath away. To see it in front of me was amazing and exceeded my expectations! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Second, it was fully intact and took me half an hour to unpack. I joked with my wife that it was like breaking into Fort Knox! It was extremely well protected and arrived in perfect condition.
Thank you again Catherine—your work is stunning and I am thrilled with the final product.
2016, Bryan, St. Catharines, ON
Martindale Pond, 16×20
Catherine Orfald did a fantastic job in capturing the true beauty of Martindale Pond and giving my family an opportunity to enjoy a view they grew up with for years to come.
2015, Jamie, Houston, TX
Maggie, 8×10
Catherine’s very competent skill and empathy for her subject shine through on canvas. She painted an oil portrait of my dog, Maggie, just after she had passed away. The portrait gives me a pure sense of joy on a daily basis. Catherine has captured Maggie’s very essence and reminds me of the unconditional love that we shared.
2014, Laurie, Carleton Place, ON
Alex and Jack, 14×11
I can hardly find the words to express to you our immense pleasure, happiness and gratitude for the portraits of our grandchildren.
Thank you again Catherine for the joy these portraits continue to give us.
All four of the oil portraits are absolutely beautiful and we love them. They depict a striking likeness of the children’s faces and a true essence of their characters. The colors are vivid, skillfully overlapping, and the paintings luxuriously textured.
2012, Darinka and Family, Perth, ON
Alyssa and Christina, 14×11
As you may know, we had been looking for some time for a portrait artist to paint our grandchildren when, fortuitously we came across your artwork at your studio. We felt very privileged and fortunate to have an artist of your sensitivity and caliber agree to paint the children.
We would be very grateful if you would consider doing a portrait of our newest granddaughter as she reaches approximately the same age as the others, when they were painted.
2011, Darinka and Family, Perth, ON
Sid and Molly, 12×10
Catherine’s painting of our furkids (Newfoundland dogs) captured the heart and soul of the pair. It is extremely difficult to paint the features of black dogs; Catherine did an outstanding job in capturing their features. The painting brings smiles to our faces every single day.
2011, Bob and Deb, Perth area, ON
Crain Cat Trio, 20×20 (and other Siamese cat paintings)
Your rendition of our cats is superb. My husband and I really enjoy the paintings. These paintings become even more comforting when the cats pass over the rainbow bridge. Two of the cats are no longer with us, so the paintings are a treasured keepsake. Thank you so much.
