I enjoy doing commissions of people, pets, and landscapes. The price for a commissioned piece varies based on size, subject matter and complexity (for example, more than one subject or other important details to be included), and cropping (hands or a full figure in the piece).

I can paint from photos or from life. The subject’s time, availability, and patience is the biggest challenge when considering working from life!

When working from photographs, I prefer to meet the subject and to take my own pictures. In cases where this is not possible, it’s nice to have a variety of photo images provided so that I can “get to know” the subject. We will choose one photograph to work from and extraneous elements can be excluded.

Oil paint needs time to dry between sessions, so a finished commission takes a number of weeks to complete, depending on size.
