This encaustic painting of a Barred Owl was prompted by a recent sighting. It’s always a thrill to see such a beautiful and powerful bird.

The painting is done on a cradled board that also came with a float frame, so the painted board fits snugly in the frame. The frame is also painted in encaustic.
