I just finished these two spring and fall paintings last weekend.
One of our earliest spring flowers are white trilliums. There were so many this year! I didn’t see a lot of the Red Trilliums (Wakerobin) this spring.
It was interesting to finish spring and fall paintings in the summer in the studio. It’s usually pretty cool in the studio due to the cement floor, but on really hot days, it can get to about 20C.
As I finished these two paintings (in conjunction with a number of others on the go) I was straddled midway between those seasons! Perfect!
The fall painting was a personal challenge. I took photographs last fall of puddles reflecting the sky and surroundings with colourful leaves floating on the water. I wanted to see if I could capture the fact that some leaves were submerged and visible, while others floated on the surface.
It was a topsy-turvy feeling painting these “Fall Reflections.” I love the colour of the sky! Coming up next, I have more summertime leading into fall landscapes on the go. Keep in touch!
