Family Heirloom is a very personal piece reflecting some interesting family history. The red braid was handed down through generations to my red-haired Aunt Kay, who recently handed it down to me, her red-haired niece (frankly, my hair is now getting more silvery than gold :-). In piecing the story together, we confirmed it was from Helen Clarissa Finch Tanner, my great-great grandmother. She died while she was still a redhead.

The goldstone jewellery was also given to me by Aunt Kay when I was a young woman. It was passed down to her by her Aunt Margie, who got it from her mother, Alice May Tanner.

I felt the pieces all belonged together as a family heirloom, showing our family links and connections.
