This is the finished portrait which is a commission of Mia, my son’s dog. Mia is sitting in the dappled sunlight on a bridge, after meandering through the woods at Westminster Ponds. This is an environmentally significant area; the largest publicly-owned one in London, Ontario. And don’t worry, Mia was leashed, in accordance with the rules :-). We just chose to leave it out of the painting.

This is the third commission I’ve done this year. I enjoy painting people, animals, and landscapes for people who want a special memory preserved on canvas. Please take a look at my Commissions page if you’d like to see more.

It was a special project to paint Mia, since I know her well and enjoy her character and boundless energy.
