I loved painting this Trumpeter Swan Family. The male seemed to be conjuring up more winter, since we’re certainly getting quite a Canadian winter this year!

I am grateful to the talented photographer Nancy Steed Wilcox for graciously allowing me to work from her photo. This is cropped from her original to fit a canvas size I had handy. Nancy’s photo had more space in front of the birds, which worked really well! She photographed these birds near Fallbrook at the end of December.
