I love watching the Red-breasted Nuthatch when it comes to our feeder. They are often seen in this position. Heading down or up a tree branch is easily done.
This bird is painted in encaustic on cradled board. I usually use a heat gun to fuse the paintings, but this time tried a small blow torch. It doesn’t blow the wax and move it around quite so much.
This Red-breasted Nuthatch painting is quite small at 8×6 inches, but it fits the bird as they are also very small.
