Here is a newly finished oil painting: Deer in Liminal Space. Liminal, in this sense, means “occupying a position at, or on both sides of, a boundary or threshold.”

“The noun limen refers to the point at which a physiological or psychological effect begins to be produced, and liminal is the adjective used to describe things associated with that point, or threshold, as it is also called.”

The deer was young, I think, and suddenly appeared, blending with the surroundings… we looked deeply into each other’s eyes for many minutes (and photographs!).

It was an amazing close encounter.
